BAMBOO XYLOPHONE PLAYER
Oil On Canvas, 11 x 14
Frame: N/A

This is a painting of a xylophone bamboo player in a colourful Filipina costume. She is one of the musicians who belong to one of the handful of bamboo orchestras in the world. Pangkat Kawayan (Bamboo Group) as it is called performs on over a hundred instruments made of bamboo. They perform mostly Philippine folksongs in native costumes and they dance while they perform. It is a beautiful, entralling and colourful performance of Philippine music. The group has performed all over the world.

ERNIE purchased this painting as a gift to his wife, MILA, who bears a striking resemblance to the actual player in the painting.
